La Casa de mi Hermano

My brother is fixing up a house - and doing a fine job of it. It's an old house, built in the 1890's, complete with lap and plaster, adobe and century-old spider webs.

Before he completely covered up the old workings of the house I snuck in after dark and stole a few shots. I used several objects we found buried deep in the walls as elements in some of the images.

These definitely emote a feeling. They are actually a little scary. Nicely done.

It was creepy, I'll admit; shooting at about 11:30PM, all of the lights out in a house that is nearly 150 years old. All of the walls were torn out, exposing the old lap and plaster and forgotten places. I was working above the cellar hole with my head stuffed up into the original crawl space/rafters taking pictures of cobwebs!

It was a little disconcerting.
